The advantages of vented prefabricated plumbing units over an unvented system are:

• Low risk, because they are not pressured.
• Low maintenance, because they do not require safety devices.
• Because they store water they are not subject to mains pressure loss.
• Or complete water loss because the mains have been shut down.
• On multiple projects specified materials are factory fitted ensuring conformity throughout the project.
• Factory built units ensure uniformity in the method of installation, in all the cylinder cupboards.
• Planning for long term maintenance within the unit design.
• Expensive site labour times reduced.
• Where required we integrate a hot and cold water booster pump ensuring good pressures to all sanitary appliances.
• All your heating controls can be incorporated onto the unit ensuring they will be correct and consistent.

Unvented hot water systems have advantages, but they need an annual maintenance inspection by a qualified fitter, a qualified fitter is often hard to come by and expensive.  Unvented systems require unsightly and inconvenient expansion discharge pipes, and are subject to low performance due to water mains pressure drops.

Vented systems only require the ballvalve to be inspected from time to time.
